Christ is Risen – We are Back!

Our new filtering system is LIVE and in BETA.
Now, every FREE member gets one FREE sub-profile for “DNS over HTTPS” (DoH) filtering.

In about an hour, I will leave for church to celebrate the resurrection of our God and Savior Jesus Christ. I’m exhausted, but I look forward to the exhilaration of joining the choir of angels singing, “Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death, by death; and to those in the tombs bestowing life!”

After many months of struggle and frustration, I am happy to announce the resurrection of FreeFiltering. Thanks to everyone for your prayers & financial support during this difficult process. The new service won’t be perfect – I’ll need your help to work out all the bugs. 

I join the Apostle Paul in saying, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble.”

Mobile Devices:  The best use of DoH is for filtering a mobile device “away from home”. At this time, you cannot filter Andoid devices away from home. (DoT for Android devices is in development.) But you can download out iOS config profile onto any iOS device.

IMPORTANT: log into this site using Safari before downloading the DoH profile.

Desktop/Laptop: You can also use your DoH URL for “Secure DNS” in most browsers on desktop and laptop computers.

IMPORTANT: Before setting your Wi-Fi router to use our DNS servers below, please realize that the experience could be rough for a few weeks. At this time, we only recommend you use our DNS on your Wi-Fi router if it is “low-risk” for you. (For example, you’re single, tech-savvy, and willing to communicate bugs to us.)

Unfortunately, I do not have the bandwidth to provide setup help since I’ll be totally focused on working bugs out of the system, finishing out the website classification system, and building Android filtering. There is not yet a knowledgebase you can use. Your best bet is to ask in our Facebook group for help from other members. I’ll try my best to respond to question in the Facebook group.

We have populated “high-risk” categories with curated lists of websites from outside sources. In the coming weeks, we will turn on our AI classification tools that classify new websites “on the fly” if they are not already in our database.
